2018 Calendar of Events

Thursday, Oct. 4: SCGSI Meeting. The evening begins with refreshments and visiting at 6 p.m. The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m., with Alice Mercer Pruitt presenting a program on World War II. She asks that each person bring their own recollections or stories. All meetings are concluded by 8 p.m. and are held at the Scott County Museum, 1050 S. Main St., Scottsburg.

Saturday, Oct. 6: Final Bake Sale of the Year. Located at the Scott County Museum Barn during the Barn Sale, from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. or when items are all sold.

Saturday, Oct. 13: Fall All You Can Eat Breakfast: 7-10:30 a.m. at the Scott County Museum, 1050 S. Main St., Scottsburg. $7 per adult, $5 per child under age 10 when accompanied by a paying adult. Menu: coffee, milk, juices, ham, bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, sweet breads.

Thursday, November 1: The regularly scheduled meeting for this day has been postponed due to a dress rehearsal for a museum play.

Saturday, Nov. 17: SCGSI Meeting at 1 p.m. at the Museum, 1050 S. Main St., Scottsburg. The program is "What Are Our Brick Walls?" Guests are asked to bring a list of your surnames you are researching to be compiled at the Research Rooms for the public to have available.

December 6: Deadline to become a 2018 member in order to be in contest for winning a free DNA kit, presented by Marilyn Hutton Chamberlain. The deadline to become a member at the special price of $18 (expires Dec. 31, 2019) will be Dec. 31, 2018.

Thursday, Dec. 6: Christmas Pitch-in Dinner will be held at 6 p.m. at the Scott County Museum, 1050 S. Main St.
